Likes: nearly impossible to burn yourself. The hot area is completely enclosed by a triangle-shaped cage that you slip your hair through. I’ve tried two others that were wider, like a wide brush. I like that this one is narrow. It’s easier to turn and make a curl. Frustrations: I use these brushes to run through my hair before I finish with the straightening iron (also a conair brand) because my hair is thick and this saves a lot of time. But, the cage is so protective of your hands, I must pull my hair taunt, and use a small amount of muscle to get my hair into the grooves. This means I must have a firm grip on the handle. But, the temperature adjustment is on the handle. So, about every second or third pass, I hear and feel the click of the temperature I just changed. Then, I have to stop and look at the handle to see if I’ve pressed the up or down button, because the actual temperature is displayed. If the temp starts going up, I know I’ve turned it up, and vice versa. So, it doesn’t save as much time for me as it could. On the plus side, the on/off button is also on the handle, but this button must be pressed and held before it functions. So I’m not turning it off at least. I’ll definitely be looking to replace this one asap.
