My dog is really hard on collars. We go to the pool, the lake, mud puddles, etc., and this collar is the BEST one I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I love that it doesn’t stink or stay wet after we’ve been in the water, and it’s super easy to clean.I bought one that was larger than what I really needed, and I was able to cut off the excess and use a lighter to melt the end where I made the cut. I made sure it was really melted and then used my fingers to smooth and compress it and I have not had it unravel/fray any at all.I will definitely be buying another one when the time comes, and will be buying one for my other dogs when they need new collars as well!***2021 UPDATE***We have had this collar for well over a year now, it’s still as good as new. Very rarely do I take it off of him because you just never know what could happen and despite him being chipped, I feel more comfortable knowing my contact information is readily available. The name tag plate is still well attached, no problems there, and the coating on the collar itself is still in like new condition, no fading, cracking, staining, etc. I absolutely love this collar. I have never had one last this long and it still look like I just bought it last month. All the hardware is heavy duty, I never worry about it breaking. He is very hard on collars so I am so glad to have found this one. Looking forward to many more years of use out of it.**2023 update**This collar is still going strong! We’ve really put it to the test this last summer as we took a 10k mile adventure over the US, staying everywhere from mountains, lakes, rivers, creeks, deserts, forests, Etc. you name it, we’ve explored it or swam in it. And if it stinks, he’s probably rolled in it and coated this collar thoroughly lol. From dead skunks to fox poop. Fun! I added a few pics of it now three years later. Some places that get a little more action (around the buckle and ring) have begun to discolor but it’s not noticeable unless you’re up close.NOVEMBER 2023 UPDATEwe finally had to trash this collar – BUT – It wasn’t the collars fault. It was in the line of fire when my dog got sprayed by a skunk and I couldn’t get the smell out. I have no doubt it would still be going strong. I would have ordered another but I had to pick one up locally because I couldn’t wait on shipping, the skunk smell had to go asap lol.I really miss this collar. I loved the ring in the middle, I would clip my leash it it instead of the D ring which kept the leash on top of his neck instead of under his neck, he constantly steps over his leash now with the new collar. One day ill probably order another one of these collars, it was the best!
