Snow Crystals Alyssum Gardening Seed. 55 to 60 Days. Lobularia maritima. Easy flower to grow at home. Direct sow in spring after the last frost. Cover lightly. Germ at 68 to 72 degrees. This herbaceous perennial is showy and sweet-scented, tolerates dry soil and droughts, and grows much like a carpet, filling in the gaps in your garden. Small Spear-like foliage grows down the stem along with the blossoms. Height – 4 to 8 inches. Spacing – 4 to 8 inches. Spread – 6 to 12 inches. Great for edging and bordering in rock or conventional gardens. Suitable for containers, which will spill over the edges of the pot, brightening any area that you place it. Sow seeds 35 days before the final frost, and remember not to cover the seeds when planting–just press the seed into the soil 1/4 inch. Approximately 90,000 seeds/oz. except with the multi-seed pellets which contain 5-7 seeds per pellet.
