Ponytail Palm, commonly known as Bottle Palm, Elephant Foot Tree, Beaucarnea Recurvata or Nolina, is an exotic palm tree, valuable for its unusual shape and decorative foliage. It has powerful tree-like thick trunk in the form of huge bulb, which accumulates the moisture. The plant uses this moisture during drought period, that is why it is the main peculiarity of the plant. Ponytail Palm can take special place in the house, attracting by its uncommon shape. It is an air-purifier, it absorbs harmful substances from the indoor air, which improves mood and removes stress after hard working day. It grows best in bright spots with no direct sunlight all year round. The plant should be hidden from the direct sun, as it can cause some burns on the foliage. Water the plant with approximately 1 glass of room temperature water when the top few inches of soil seem to be on drier side to the touch (about once a week depending on the growing conditions).
